A junior minister in the British Government discovers a terrorist plot to detonate a nuclear device in London. Putting self-preservation first, he flees with a young American political advisor to a re-commissioned Secret Nuclear Underground Bunker - S.N.U.B. They find themselves entombed in the bunker with a disparate group of individuals caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. The terrorist bomb is found, but attempts by bomb disposal experts fail to prevent it exploding, destroying central London and contaminating the surrounding countryside. As a result of the blast a group of dangerous convicts break out from a local high security prison, but are contaminated with radiation and start to mutate. The mutants infiltrate the bunker and one by one the occupants endure a horrible, grisly death. Eventually one of the survivors escapes from the bunker to make contact with the outside world and a rescue helicopter is organised. But inside the S.N.U.B. the mutants are closing in. A look at the creation and impact of the 1972 Rolling Stones album "Exile on Main St." There is a great moment in Stones in Exile when Keith Richards defines the essential difference in temperament between Mick Jagger and himself. "Mick needs to know what he's going to do tomorrow," says Richards, his voice slurring into a laugh. "Me, I'm just happy to wake up and see who's hanging around. Mick's rock, I'm roll." On Exile on Main St, though, Jagger, for once, rolled with Richards. So, too, did everyone else involved, from Jimmy Miller, the producer, to Marshall Chess, the young Atlantic Records executive, to the rest of the group and their extended retinue of session players, studio technicians and hangers-on. Once the decision had been made to record the album in the basement of Villa Nellcote, Richards's rented house in the south of France, the working schedule was dictated by the irregular hours kept by the group's wayward guitarist, who also had a singularly dogged approach to composing songs. Contains archival appearances from blues masters Willie Dixon, Son House, Muddy Waters, and Memphis Slim. The disc also contains some band history and home movies from drummer Sam Lay, along with various opinions on the relationship between Wolf and Muddy Waters. 1st watched 8/19/2001 - 7 out of 10 (Dir-Nigel Finch): Well put together documentary on the history of the Rolling Stones and the members so far. Despite whether you are a fan of theirs, after watching this movie you have learned a lot more about the band and respect them a little more. Near the end there is less about the people and more concert footage which is okay because there was plenty of information about the people early in the movie to get an idea of what the members are like. The team that made this movie also made other well done documentaries on rock stars like John Lennon, and they seem to have found a niche at what their good at. The movie gives you an insight into the real people that make up the band, not just the portrait that has been given us by the media. In December of 1969, four months after Woodstock, the Rolling Stones and Jefferson Airplane gave a free concert in Northern California, east of Oakland at Altamont Speedway. About 300,000 people came, and the organizers put Hell's Angels in charge of security around the stage. Armed with pool cues and knifes, Angels spent the concert beating up spectators, killing at least one. The film intercuts performances, violence, Grace Slick and Mick Jagger's attempts to cool things down, close-ups of young listeners (dancing, drugged, or suffering Angel shock), and a look at the Stones later as they watch concert footage and reflect on what happened. Cutting between 3 major scenes, including the Rolling Stones in the studio, the film is visually intercut with Eve Democracy (Wiazemsky) using graffiti which amalgamates organisations, corporations and ideologies. Godard also examines the role of the revolutionary within western culture. Although he believes western culture needs to be destroyed, it can only be done so by the rejection of intellectualisation.
