The Plot: "MASKHEAD" tells the depraved tale of Syl and Maddie, a lesbian couple who produce extreme fetish and dark specialty movies. With the help of "The Cowboy," their sociopathic associate, they audition numerous up-and-comings to star in Maskhead; their top selling, stomach-turning fetish series; which features a large masked man who tortures and kills his "co-stars." What intrigued me most about this film is that it's the first time Toe Tag Pictures has worked with an outside party. So who's the guest of horror doomed to play in Vogel's demented playground? Scott Swan, co-writer of Masters of Horror episode "Cigarette Burns", the best episode from the whole series in my opinion. Scott is credited as the sole writer for "Maskhead" and as co-director. This is a groundbreaking movie about the accessibility of violence on the Internet. It is done perfect with seemingly many different cameras. Some people have compared it to Faces of Death, but others feel this movie is even more important. These days it is so easy to click on a link and watch a real life murder. An unlabelled crate from an unknown source is delivered to a house in the woods. The homeowner unwisely accepts the delivery, only to discover it contains a TV set that starts spewing giggling zombies all over the place. When a new family moves into the now-abandoned house, the son discovers the haunted televsion and is soon told what he needs to do to send the zombies back where they belong.
