Orwell's classic novel is a raw and haunting allegory of oppressor and oppressed, set against the backdrop of a regime ruled by the iron fist of Big Brother, the all-powerful, all-knowing and ruthless Party leader, whose gigantic image looms everywhere, and whose spies can pry into even the most intimate secrets of one's private life.
